Deletion and Renewal Policy
1. INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions set forth the Registration Agreement between you and Total Web Solutions Limited trading as Total Registrations, a Cheshire based Company with a UK Domicile. In this Agreement Total Registrations shall be referred to as "Total Registrations", "we", "us", "our" and you shall be referred to as "The Customer", "you" or "your".
Domain names are registered for fixed periods that are subject to renewal.
For domains that are sponsored by ICANN (eg. .com, .net, .org, .info etc...) the following renewal and deletion policy clauses will apply :-
We will send email communications to alert you that your domain name registration service will expire on a certain date. We will send, at a minimum, a renewal reminder 30 days and 7 days prior to expiration. If the registration is not renewed five days after the expiration date we will send another renewal reminder notice. We will send the renewal reminder notice in the same language as the registration agreement. We will send these email communications to the email addresss that is recorded in our database for the registered name holder of the domain immediately prior to its expiration. We will also copy these email communications to the the renewal email address (if different from the Registered name holder email) that is associated with the account that the domain name resides in.
If you do not renew the domain name registration by the expiration date, the domain name registration is subject to deletion at any time after that. In an effort to help you avoid unintentional deletion of your domain name registration, we may, but are not obligated to, provide you with a "grace period" after the domain name registration services expiration date (a "grace period" begins on the day after the date of expiration).
We will provide a minimum grace period that extends 8 days past the expiration date, to allow the renewal of the domain name registration service. During this grace period you can renew the domain name registration. We recommend that if you intend to renew a domain name registration you should do so in advance of the expiration date to avoid any unintended domain name interruption.
After the grace period the domains DNS (Domain Name System) resolution path will be interrupted for 8 days. We will redirect all web traffic to a web page that conspicuously indicate that the domain name registration has expired and will provide renewal instructions. During this DNS Interruption you will be able to renew the expired domain name. (Fees to renew the domain during the DNS Interruption are detailed below). Upon renewal of the domain registration we will restore the DNS (Domain Name System) resolution path to its previous setting as soon as is commercially reasonable.
If an expired domain name registration is not renewed within the 8 days of DNS interruption, pursuant to our terms, the domain name registration will be deleted. Registry Operators may provide registrars with the ability to "redeem" a deleted domain name registration, called Redemption Grace Period (RGP) and we, in turn, provide you with an ability to redeem a particular domain name registration. Registry Operators may provide an RGP for 30 days from the date of deletion. When we provide the redemption service to you, we charge a fee (detailed below) to redeem and renew a domain name registration during the RGP. If the domain name registration is not redeemed by the expiration of the RGP, it is then placed on "Pending Delete" status for five additional days, after which it is deleted and the domain name character string is then once again available for registration.
In the event that a domain name registration is the subject of a Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceeding and expires or is deleted during the course of the dispute, the party that filed the UDRP proceeding has the option to renew or restore the domain name registration under the same commercial terms as the original Domain name holder. If the case ultimately is terminated or the arbitrator finds against the filing party, the name will be deleted within 45 days.
Renewal Policy for .uk domain names.
.UK Domains can be registered for 1 to 10 years, and we will send out reminder emails 60 days, 30 days, 7 days and 2 days before the expiration date. We will send the emails to the email address on the account, it is the registrants responsibility to make sure their contact details are up to date. We take no responsibility if your domain renewal fails due to your contact details being incorrect.
If you do not wish to renew a domain and you have not set the domain to auto-renewal then you do not need to do anything, you can just let the domain lapse.
If you wish to renew a domain name, then you can manually renew the domain in your account at any time.
Alternatively you can set your domain to auto renew, this can be managed through the control panel area. We require that you hold a valid credit/debit card on your account to use the auto renewal facility. On the expiration date of the domain we will attempt to deduct the renewal amount from your card held on file. If we are able to charge your card we will then auto renew the domain name. If we are unable to charge your card, we will notify you of this fact, and you will then be responsible for manually renewing the domain. We take no responsibility for non auto renewal of your domain due to us not being able to charge your card held on file.
If you do not renew your domain before its expiry date you will have up to 30 days (protected period) after to renew the domain name at the original renewal fee. Please log into the client portal area to view the renewal fees.
After 30 days after the expiration of your domain it will be suspended and will go into a 60 day grace period which you can still renew your domain name but with an additional late renewal fee. This must be requested by email before the 80th day after your domain has expired, after 90 days your domain will be cancelled and deleted from the register and made available for general registration through a third party registrar.
